The United Kingdom(UK) has issued a 10-year entry ban to 1,632 Ghanaians after uncovering what officials describe as a large-scale visa fraud operation. The sanctioned individuals represent about 4 percent of all Ghanaian applicants in 2024.
British authorities say the affected applicants allegedly submitted forged documents, provided false information, or misrepresented their intentions during the visa process. The UK Home Office has intensified its scrutiny of applications from several countries, warning that any form of document fraud will attract long-term travel restrictions.

Ghana’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has acknowledged the development, saying it is engaging UK authorities while also reviewing domestic processes to protect the integrity of Ghanaian travel documentation. Officials are urging citizens to avoid unapproved agents and ensure all visa submissions are accurate, as international partners continue to tighten immigration controls.
