Egypt’s engineering exports reached a record US$5.93 billion in the first 11 months of 2025, marking the highest level ever recorded, the Engineering Export Council of Egypt (EEC) has said.
The figure represents a 13.9 percent year-on-year increase from US$5.2 billion in the same period of 2024, reflecting strong momentum despite global economic challenges. November alone saw exports surge 35.4 percent to US$621.3 million, compared with US$458.5 million a year earlier.
EEC Chairperson Sherif El-Sayad attributed the growth to robust performance across key sectors, including machinery and equipment, which rose 25 percent, electrical and electronics at 24 percent, automotive components at 22 percent, transport equipment at 13 percent, and home appliances at 12 percent.
“The figures underscore the diversification and competitiveness of Egypt’s engineering production base,” El-Sayad said, stressing the importance of attracting investment to sustain export growth.
Egypt’s engineering products saw expanding demand across Europe, the Arab world, Asia, Africa, and the United States, highlighting the country’s efforts to broaden export markets and reduce dependency on any single region.
The EEC pledged continued support for exporters, aiming to open new markets and deepen penetration in existing ones, in line with the government’s broader strategy to boost exports and strengthen the sector’s contribution to economic growth.
