Amazon’s MGM Studios is preparing to roll out a closed beta of new artificial intelligence tools designed to assist with film and television production, the company has announced.
According to reports, the programme is scheduled to begin in March 2026 and will allow select creators and production teams to test a suite of AI-powered capabilities aimed at streamlining various stages of the content pipeline.
The tools are intended to support tasks across pre-production, production and post-production, including workflow automation, script analysis, visual planning, and other creative processes that traditionally demand significant time and resources.
Amazon’s initiative builds on broader industry trends where major studios and technology companies are increasingly exploring how generative AI can enhance storytelling, reduce operational friction, and help manage large volumes of creative assets.

While specifics on the tools’ exact features and participating partners have not been fully disclosed, the closed beta is expected to offer early insights into how AI might integrate with conventional filmmaking practices, including collaboration between writers, directors, editors and visual effects teams.
The move aligns with Amazon’s ongoing investments in AI across its business units, from cloud services through AWS to consumer products and entertainment.
Interested parties and content producers invited to the beta will be able to provide feedback that could shape how these AI tools evolve before any broader rollout.
