Namibia cuts fuel prices effective February 4

Namibia’s Ministry of Mines and Energy has announced a reduction in fuel prices, with the new rates taking effect from February 4, 2026.

Executive Director in the ministry, Moses Pakote, said the price of petrol has been reduced by N$1.00 per litre, while both grades of diesel have been cut by 50 cents per litre.

As a result of the adjustment, the new pump prices at Walvis Bay are set at N$19.58 per litre for petrol 95, and N$19.63 per litre for diesel.

The ministry said the price review reflects movements in international oil prices and exchange rate dynamics, which are key determinants in Namibia’s fuel pricing formula. The adjustment is expected to provide some relief to consumers and businesses, particularly in transport, logistics and other fuel-dependent sectors.

Fuel prices at Walvis Bay serve as the benchmark for pump prices across the country, with retail prices in other regions adjusted to reflect transport and distribution costs.

The ministry reiterated its commitment to monitoring global market trends closely and ensuring that local fuel prices remain responsive to international developments while safeguarding supply security.
