Hashem said the government was committed to supporting Samsung’s manufacturing activities, describing the company as a potential model for attracting further foreign investment into Egypt’s technology and industrial sectors.

He said electronics and technology remain priority areas under Egypt’s Industrial Strategy 2030, which aims to position the country as a regional manufacturing and export hub.

The minister also stressed the importance of raising the local content level in Samsung’s products by increasing the participation of Egyptian suppliers in the company’s value chain.

He pointed to a supplier development programme led by the Industrial Modernization Center, which seeks to strengthen domestic supply networks, improve industrial capabilities and boost the competitiveness of Egyptian manufacturers.

Samsung’s operations in Egypt have become a key part of the country’s ambitions to expand its electronics industry and attract more technology-based manufacturing investments.

During the meeting, Kim thanked the Ministry of Industry for its support of Samsung’s activities in Egypt and highlighted recent engagement between the company and government officials, including a visit by the minister to Samsung’s factory in Beni Suef.

Kim reaffirmed Samsung’s commitment to expanding local production, advancing sustainability targets and developing the skills of Egyptian workers in technology-related industries.

The company said investment in local talent and manufacturing capacity would remain central to its long-term strategy in Egypt, as the country continues efforts to build a stronger industrial base and increase its role in global supply chains.
