Ghana’s Cyber Security Authority (CSA), in a joint operation with National Security operatives, has arrested 32 Nigerian nationals suspected of involvement in organised cybercrime, including romance scams, officials say. The arrests were made at a suspected cybercrime hub in Tuba, a town on the outskirts of Accra in the Greater Accra Region.
During the operation, security forces seized 31 laptops and 15 mobile phones, which are now undergoing forensic analysis to gather evidence and trace criminal networks. The suspects remain in police custody and are assisting investigators as part of ongoing inquiries into transnational cybercrime activity.

The CSA described the raid as part of a sustained effort to dismantle cybercrime networks that exploit digital platforms and defraud victims locally and abroad. Officials said the operation enjoyed strong support from government agencies, and additional coordinated actions are expected as authorities move to protect Ghana’s digital ecosystem.
Cybercrime, particularly fraud conducted through fake online personas and romance scams, has been a growing concern in the region. The arrests are intended to send a clear message that law enforcement will intervene aggressively against criminal enterprises operating within Ghana’s borders.
