Morocco exports rise to US$46.5bn by November as phosphate sales surge

Morocco’s exports reached about US$46.5 billion by the end of November 2025, buoyed by strong growth in phosphate and derivative products, official data showed.

According to figures released by the Exchange Office, exports from the phosphate sector totalled nearly US$9.6 billion, up 13.8 percent from the same period a year earlier.

The rise was driven by higher sales across all segments of the industry. Shipments of raw phosphate recorded the sharpest increase, surging 28.9 percent year-on-year.

Exports of phosphoric acid also rose strongly, climbing 14.6 percent, while shipments of natural and chemical fertilisers increased by 11.7 percent, the Exchange Office said in its monthly external trade bulletin.

Phosphates remain one of Morocco’s most important export pillars and a major source of foreign currency, supported by steady global demand and the country’s expanding capacity to move up the value chain from raw materials to processed products.

Beyond phosphates, the aeronautics sector also posted solid growth. Exports from the industry rose 8.5 percent to more than US$2.9 billion by the end of November.

The increase was driven mainly by stronger sales in assembly activities, which advanced 8.8 percent, as well as electrical wiring interconnection systems (EWIS), which grew 8.1 percent.

Morocco’s aeronautics industry has emerged as one of the country’s fastest-growing export sectors over the past decade, supported by integrated industrial platforms, skilled labour and long-term partnerships with major international manufacturers.

Authorities see continued expansion in both phosphates and high-value manufacturing as central to efforts to strengthen exports, support economic growth and improve the country’s external balances.
