Morocco will open a digital platform on March 20 to provide emergency financial support to road transport professionals grappling with rising fuel costs, the Ministry of Transport and Logistics announced.
The initiative targets both freight and passenger transport operators and comes in response to surging international oil prices, which have driven domestic fuel costs higher and put pressure on the operational viability of Morocco’s road transport sector. Authorities note that the measure aims to protect a critical segment of the country’s logistics chain, where fuel accounts for a substantial share of operating expenses.
Eligible transport operators can submit applications and track their status online via the dedicated platform at https://mouakaba.transport.gov.ma. The system will leverage the digital framework used in a similar government program in March 2022, which successfully processed applications and delivered financial aid within expected timelines.
Ministry officials at both central and local levels will provide guidance to applicants throughout the process, ensuring that operators can navigate the system and receive support efficiently. While the ministry has not disclosed the exact aid amounts or eligibility thresholds, references to the 2022 operation suggest that compensation will be based on verifiable fuel consumption data.
