Ondo Finance and LayerZero launch Ondo Bridge for cross-chain tokenized stocks

Ondo Finance, in partnership with LayerZero, has introduced the Ondo Bridge, a unified system enabling seamless cross-chain transfers of more than 100 tokenized stocks and ETFs between the Ethereum and BNB Chain networks. The bridge replaces previous isolated per-token models with a single, scalable framework, allowing Ondo assets to integrate into over 2,600 applications already using LayerZero technology.

The platform broadens global access to U.S. equities for non-U.S. investors, offering 24/7 trading and faster settlement than traditional markets. Leveraging LayerZero’s interoperability protocol, the system ensures 1:1 asset parity during transfers and eliminates liquidity fragmentation across chains. Ondo plans to expand to additional EVM-compatible chains, including Solana in early 2026, to increase liquidity and composability in the broader DeFi ecosystem.

The launch follows a two-year investigation by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), which concluded without charges, reinforcing confidence in Ondo’s compliant tokenization model.

How it works:

  • Asset Custody: Traditional assets are held by a third-party custodian.
  • Token Creation: Digital tokens representing ownership of the underlying asset are issued on the blockchain.
  • Cross-Chain Transfer: Tokens are burned on the source chain and re-minted on the destination chain, secured by decentralized verifier networks.
  • Seamless Integration: The Omnichain Fungible Token (OFT) standard allows tokens to operate natively on multiple chains and integrate with other DeFi protocols.
