Orabank will close four branches in Togo at the end of February 2026 as part of an ongoing rationalisation of its physical network, the bank said.
In notices published by its Togolese subsidiary and seen by local media, Orabank said agencies located in Assahoun, Mango, Kégué and on Boulevard des Armées in the capital Lomé will cease operations on February 28.
The latest closures follow earlier reductions in the bank’s branch network. In March 2025, Orabank shut two agencies in Lomé and in the central town of Sotouboua, after several branches were closed in 2023.
The lender did not provide details on the reasons behind the latest decision. However, it previously said similar measures formed part of a broader restructuring programme aimed at improving efficiency.
Orabank is the Togolese unit of Oragroup, a pan-African banking group operating in several West and Central African countries. Market observers have previously pointed to uncertainty around the group’s future ownership, after reports in 2022 said Oragroup was engaged in takeover talks, with Burkina Faso-based Vista Bank cited as a potential buyer.
Despite the contraction of its branch network, Oragroup has reported strong financial results. The group posted a record net profit of 18.3 billion CFA francs (UU$30 million) in the first half of 2025.
