French aerospace group Safran will invest €280 million in the construction of a new landing gear manufacturing facility in Nouaceur, in the Casablanca-Settat region of Morocco, Moroccan authorities announced on Friday.
The plant will be located within the Midparc industrial zone and operated by Safran Landing Systems, the group’s subsidiary specialising in aircraft landing gear.
Spanning 26,000 square metres, the new facility will focus on the production of landing gear systems, including those destined for the Airbus A320 family of aircraft, one of the world’s best-selling commercial jet programmes.

The investment reinforces Morocco’s position as a growing aerospace manufacturing hub in Africa and the Mediterranean region. Over the past decade, the country has attracted major global aerospace suppliers seeking competitive production costs, skilled labour and proximity to European markets.
The project is expected to generate high-skilled employment and deepen Morocco’s integration into global aviation supply chains. Midparc, located near Mohammed V International Airport, has become a focal point for aerospace and industrial investment, hosting numerous international firms.
For Safran, the move aligns with its strategy to expand industrial capacity while diversifying production locations to meet rising global aircraft demand.

The development also strengthens long-standing industrial ties between Morocco and France, particularly in high-value manufacturing sectors such as aerospace and advanced engineering.
