Eutelsat, MSTelcom team up to boost Angola’s LEO connectivity

Eutelsat has partnered with Angolan telecommunications provider MSTelcom to expand its OneWeb Low Earth Orbit (LEO) connectivity services across the country.

Under the agreement, MSTelcom, a subsidiary of the Sonangol Group, will act as an authorised distributor of Eutelsat’s services, targeting sectors such as oil and gas, maritime, and fixed land operations. The partnership aims to provide secure, high-performance communications in some of Angola’s most remote and challenging areas.

Eutelsat, currently the only licensed LEO services provider in Angola, will leverage its existing infrastructure, including a ground station and local Point-of-Presence, to deliver high-speed, low-latency connectivity across Angola and Central Africa.

Philippe Baudrier, Eutelsat’s VP for Africa, said the collaboration “expands the reach of our LEO services in Angola and strengthens our work supporting the country’s connectivity needs.”

MSTelcom CEO Felisberta de Jesus added that the deal would allow the company to offer “next-generation connectivity solutions to customers operating in demanding and remote environments,” supporting Angola’s industrial growth and digital development.
