Swiss engineering company Cavotec has signed an order to supply advanced cable and hose reel systems to Morocco’s OCP Group, the world’s largest producer of phosphate-based fertilisers, the company said.
The contract was signed with TAKRAF India Pvt. Ltd., which is executing bulk material handling projects for OCP. Under the order, Cavotec will deliver seven cable reel systems and six hose reel systems designed to provide power and fluid supply to heavy equipment operating in demanding industrial environments.
Cavotec said the systems will be used in bulk material handling operations, where reliable and safe energy and fluid transmission is critical, particularly in harsh mining and processing conditions.
“This order expands our installed base at the end customer and strengthens our long-term partnership with TAKRAF,” Cavotec Chief Executive Officer David Pagels said in a statement.
He added that the contract also supports Cavotec’s strategic positioning in North Africa’s growing mining and minerals sector, as well as in the global bulk materials handling market.
The order was signed in December 2025, with delivery scheduled for mid-2026, the company said.
OCP Group, wholly owned by the Moroccan state, is one of the world’s leading producers and exporters of phosphate rock, phosphoric acid and phosphate fertilisers. The group has been investing heavily in recent years to expand capacity, modernise infrastructure and improve operational efficiency across its mining and industrial assets.
The deal highlights continued investment by OCP in industrial equipment and logistics systems to support its mining and processing operations, as global demand for fertilisers remains strong amid efforts to boost agricultural productivity and food security.
For Cavotec, the contract adds to its portfolio of projects supplying electrification and automation solutions to mining, ports and industrial customers worldwide. The company specialises in technologies that enable safe, sustainable and efficient movement of power, data and fluids to mobile equipment.
TAKRAF, part of the German-based Tenova group, is a major supplier of bulk material handling systems and mining equipment and has worked on several large-scale projects for OCP in recent years.
Cavotec said the latest order reinforces its presence in North Africa, where mining and industrial projects are expected to drive demand for specialised engineering solutions over the medium term.
