Held under the theme, “Seeds of Change: From Leadership to Legacy – Women Transforming the Agri-Food Systems,” the event brought together over 600 Queen Mothers, market queens, agribusiness leaders, and youth participants. Discussion widely centered on strengthening local production in key sectors such as tomato, cocoa and poultry, while improving distribution systems and expanding economic opportunities within rural communities.

Speaking at the event, the General Manager of Kuipers Breeders Ghana, Moses Aidoo, underscored the role of women in strengthening agricultural systems.

“When we improve women’s participation and ownership in poultry farming, we help mobilise land, labour, and community resources,” he said, noting that empowering Queen Mothers through practical agricultural support can unlock wider economic opportunities for communities.

Mr. Aidoo also pointed to national programmes such as the Nkoko Nkitinkiti initiative, which seeks to revitalise the local poultry industry and reduce dependence on imported poultry products. He noted that community-level initiatives supported by traditional leaders could play an important role in achieving this goal.

Samirah Raji, representing De Heus Ghana, presented over 40 bags of poultry feed on behalf of the company to support the beneficiaries in raising the birds successfully.

The Gathering of the Royals is part of the Agrihouse Foundation’s broader vision to translate leadership into livelihoods by creating 100 jobs across communities nationwide, while positioning Queen Mothers as key agents of change in Ghana’s evolving agri-food landscape.
